Frequently Asked Questions

What are stars and diamonds for, and how are they different?

Stars indicate your progress in completing lessons and cannot be traded or used as currency. However, when the leaderboard is displayed, you will be ranked on it based on the number of stars you have earned. Stars are earned by successfully finishing lessons, as well as by achieving certain milestones.

Diamonds are received as rewards for finishing tasks. If a task is completed several times, more diamonds will be awarded. Additionally, diamonds are given when you log into the app after being away for a while or when you start a new lesson. Diamonds can be exchanged in the store for stories, songs and video clips or you can exchange them for assistance in completing tasks.

How do I get help in completing the game?

To get help in the game, you need to click on the question icon on the navigation bar during a task. You will be offered various help options to choose from. Keep in mind that certain types of assistance may require a specific number of diamonds!

Ways to provide feedback to the team and/or how to report a problem

You can leave feedback on the app's page in the App Store or Google Play, on sunscool.org via the feedback form, or in the app's settings (tap the gear icon in the menu in the lower right corner).

How do I replay a lesson?

When you are on the initial screen of the lesson, select the circular arrow icon located second from the right to reset all lesson data. The same action can be performed on any chosen game or puzzle, but in this case, only the results of that specific game or puzzle will be reset.

How can I make the app take up less space on my device?

Open the menu (the rightmost icon in the bottom panel), go to Settings (gear icon) and select Manage Storage. In the dialog, choose the option that suits you best.

How do I mute background sounds and music?

You can change the background music in the store. To do this, click on the store icon located on the bottom bar of the home screen. From there, you can select any melody or song from the available options to set as your background music. However, please note that stories and videos cannot be used as background music. If you want to remove the background music, simply tap on the music icon on the bottom bar when you play the games. Additionally, you can also disable the music through the menu, which is represented by an icon located on the bottom left corner of the application. In the application settings (represented by a gear icon), you can disable all other sounds as well. It's important to note that the narration in animated stories and tasks cannot be turned off. However, you can minimize the sound on your phone to the lowest level. Please be aware that switching your phone to silent mode may not work on all devices.

What do the levels mean and how do they differ?

The levels are chosen based on the user's age, not the complexity or knowledge of the material. The focus is on perseverance. All the answers to the tasks can be found in the Bible (the relevant passages are indicated for each task) and in the animated stories. Levels 1 and 2 consist of tasks that can be completed quickly and with little effort, such as coloring and multiple-choice questions.

Levels 3 and 4 include tasks that require more effort and patience, such as crossword puzzles, finding missing letters, or arranging words in the correct order. Users can change the level without changing their age by selecting the desired level on the application's top panel.

What if my child can't read yet?

To change your child's age settings, tap the silhouette icon in the bottom right corner. This opens the child's profile page. Next to the "Age" label, tap the orange pencil button. A "Birthday" window will appear with a scrolling wheel where you can set your child's year, month, and day of birth. If your child is young (5 years old and below), a toggle labeled "My child can read" will appear below the window. Switch the toggle off to indicate that your child cannot read — this way, only lessons that do not require reading skills will be shown. Once everything is set, tap the green checkmark button to confirm.
